How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Setter/Operator (3 Axis Milling)
    Cambridgeshire

    We do a 41.5 hour week, Mon - Thurs 8 - 5, Friday is 8 - 4.

    Quarter of an hour flexi start / finish.

    WF Tech are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company supplying high-quality components to demanding industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join their machining team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys setting and operating modern CNC machining centres within a clean, organised and quality-driven environment.

    The Role

    You'll primarily be responsible for setting and operating 3 Axis CNC machining centres, producing precision components to tight tolerances.

    The business invests heavily in modern equipment and efficient manufacturing processes, including the use of a Zoller Tool Presetting System to streamline machine set-ups.

    You'll be working on:

    Haas CNC machining centres
    Doosan CNC machining centres
    Fanuc control systems
    Low to medium batch precision components
    Responsibilities

    Setting and operating 3 Axis CNC milling machines
    Loading tooling using the Zoller presetting system
    Producing high precision components to engineering drawings
    Performing in-process inspection using measuring equipment
    Deburring and finishing components where required
    Changing tooling and offsets
    Monitoring tool wear and replacing damaged tooling
    Maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping
    Identifying opportunities to improve machining processes
    Working in accordance with company quality and health & safety procedures
    We're Looking For

    Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator within a precision engineering environment
    Strong experience setting 3 Axis CNC machining centres
    Experience with Haas and/or Doosan machines
    Good working knowledge of Fanuc controls
    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    Confident using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges
    A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail
    Someone who takes pride in producing quality work
