How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Miller Setter / Operator – Late Shift
    Location: South Woodham Ferrers, Essex (CM3)
    Shift: Monday to Friday | 3:00pm – 11:00pm
    Salary: Competitive + Monthly Bonus Scheme

    WF Tech are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in South Woodham Ferrers.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join a busy machining team working a permanent late shift. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality precision components while ensuring a smooth transition from the day shift through effective communication and handover.

    The Role
    Your responsibilities will include:
    Setting and operating CNC milling machines.
    Loading and running CNC machining centres.
    Working on DMG, YCM and Haas CNC milling machines.
    Producing precision engineered components to engineering drawings and specifications.
    Carrying out in-process inspection using handheld measuring equipment.
    Liaising with the day shift team to understand production priorities and ensure an effective shift handover.
    Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.

    To be considered, you should have:
    Previous experience as a CNC Miller Setter/Operator or CNC Machinist.
    Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
    The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    Good knowledge of precision machining techniques and quality standards.
    Experience using handheld inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges.
    A proactive attitude with good communication and team-working skills.
    Experience with DMG, YCM or Haas machining centres would be beneficial, although candidates with experience on other CNC milling machines are encouraged to apply.
