How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Manager –Logistics – Perm – Dover (Hybrid) - £52K plus bonus

    Are you a commercially driven business development professional with experience in logistics, ports, freight or supply chain? Looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact and help shape the growth of a thriving operation?

    We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation operating within the UK logistics sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing commercial team, developing new business across cargo while building long-term relationships with customers across industries including construction, infrastructure and manufacturing

    The Role

    This is a varied, customer-facing position where you'll combine account management with proactive business development. Working closely with operational teams, you'll identify new commercial opportunities, prepare proposals, support tenders and help deliver strategic growth plans.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Developing and managing relationships with new and existing customers

    * Identifying and converting new business opportunities

    * Preparing commercial proposals and supporting contract negotiations

    * Working collaboratively with operations to ensure excellent customer delivery

    * Monitoring market trends and competitor activity

    * Representing the business at industry events and networking opportunities

    About You

    You'll ideally have experience within logistics, freight forwarding, ports, shipping, supply chain or a related commercial environment.

    We're looking for someone who has:

    * A proven background in business development, sales or account management

    * Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills

    * A commercial mindset with the ability to spot growth opportunities

    * Excellent communication and presentation skills

    * A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to build credibility with customers

    Experience within cargo, or bulk logistics or related sectors would be highly advantageous, although candidates from wider logistics and supply chain backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
