How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEMH Teaching Assistant - Liverpool

    Location: Liverpool
    Job Type: Full-Time | Term Time Only
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    We are recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to work with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

    The Role

    As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, working closely with teachers and the school's pastoral team to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom.
    Building positive, trusting relationships with students.
    Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
    Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans.
    Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence.
    Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals.
    Helping to create a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

    What We're Looking For

    The ideal candidate will have:

    Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs.
    A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    The ability to remain positive and professional in challenging situations.
    A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
    An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.Experience in education, youth work, residential care, mentoring, coaching, social care, or similar support roles is highly desirable.
