How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Fire Alarm Engineer

    Package Details

    * Up to £38,000 Basic Salary

    * Lucrative Commission Scheme – Earn up to 7.5% on First-Time Fixes, Non-Compliance Quotations, Battery Replacements & Additional Works. On average Engineers are taking home an additional £10k

    * Travel Time Paid (Minus 30 Minutes Each Way)

    * £145 Standby Payment

    * Call Out Rota – 1 in 8–9 Weeks

    * Minimum 2 Hours Paid at Time and a Half on Call Out + £15 Per Call Out Attended

    * 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

    Role Overview

    As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing, fault finding and carrying out small works on fire alarm systems across a portfolio of commercial customers throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands.

    One of the key benefits of this role is the local patch, with all sites located within approximately one hour of Birmingham, providing a better work-life balance and significantly reducing long-distance travel.

    This position would suit a Fire Alarm Engineer looking to grow their existing skillset and gain experience across Gent systems!

    Key Responsibilities

    * Service and maintenance of Fire Alarm systems

    * Fault diagnosis and rectification

    * Small Works

    * Providing excellent customer service on site

    * Identifying remedial works and additional opportunities

    * Working in accordance with current industry standards and Health & Safety procedures

    * Participating in a low-frequency call-out rota

    Requirements

    The successful candidate will have:

    * Experience servicing Fire Alarm systems

    * Experience carrying out small works

    * Experience working within commercial environments

    * A full UK Driving Licence

    * A professional and customer-focused approach
