How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Lead Heat Pump Engineer

    Location: Lewes, East Sussex

    Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

    We currently have an opportunity available to join a well-established M&E and Renewable Energy contractor who are looking to bolster their heat pump installation and servicing offering with a Lead Heat Pump Engineer who will eventually progress into a Mechanical Contracts Manager position within the business.

    Lead Heat Pump Engineer Job Overview

    Complete installations, servicing and maintenance tasks on air source heat pumps within domestic and commercial settings
    Provide technical support to clients and engineers
    Work with internal teams to grow and develop the business' heat pump installation and maintenance service offering, including surveying, quoting, and winning new business
    Progressing into a Mechanical Contracts Manager role as the division of the business increases, including managing engineers, overseeing projects from conception to completion, and ensuring compliance across MCS regulations
    Working with the overall business on projects and contracts within the wider M&E sector

    Lead Heat Pump Engineer Job Requirements

    Strong hands-on technical background and experience installing and or/maintaining air source heat pumps
    Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing
    Experienced overseeing engineers, managing projects, and ensuring site and project health and safety compliance
    Based within a commutable distance of Lewes, East Sussex
    Hold a full UK driving licence
