If you like structured work, tidy reconciliations, and understanding how numbers actually move through a business, you’ll probably enjoy it. If you prefer everything pre-packaged and predictable, less so.
You’ll support the Finance Director and wider team across transactional finance, payroll, and management accounting – with a genuine mix of doing and learning.
You’ll be:
* Processing purchase invoices (including PO matching), managing supplier accounts, queries, and payments
* Maintaining and reconciling accounts payable and receivable, including inbox management and aged balances
* Processing weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy of inputs and handling employee queries
* Supporting month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
* Assisting with management accounts preparation, reporting packs, and KPI reporting
* Carrying out variance analysis and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
* Maintaining the fixed asset register
* Supporting year-end processes, audit requests, and R&D submissions
* Providing ad hoc analysis and supporting process improvements
* Maintaining accurate financial records within the accounting system
What do you need?
* AAT qualified, part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA, or qualified by experience
* Experience in a finance/accounts role, ideally with some exposure to management accounts
* Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, comfortable with data)
* Payroll experience is useful but not essential
* Accurate, organised, and able to manage deadlines
* Comfortable communicating with finance and non-finance colleagues
* Proactive and keen to develop
What’s in it for you?
* An annual salary of up to £35k (depending on experience)
* Study support
* Hybrid working
* 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
