How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you looking to gain experience supporting children with special educational needs?
    Are you interested in communication?
Have you recently graduated and are looking to train as an Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Art Therapist, Psychologist or something similar?

If yes, then this is the role for you!

A Specialist School at the heart of Oxford are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team in a full-time position. The role will involve supporting students in the classroom, all of whom have additional needs. This may include Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, behavioural challenges or communication difficulties. This is therefore the perfect role for someone looking to gain experience in this field before going on to further study.

As a Teaching Assistant, your day-to-day will involve supporting the students in the classroom, making sure they understand the task at hand. At this school, well being is just as important as academic success, so you will ensure each child is supported socially and emotionally, and guarantee that school is a place where they feel happy and safe. Behaviour management and personal care may also be required.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for a graduate interested in becoming a Therapist, Counsellor or Psychologist. This vital first-hand experience will allow you to go onto further training, gain experience working alongside various Therapy teams and give you an insight into different Therapeutic approaches and how to support pupils who need additional support.

The Specialist School, that caters for pupils between 5 to 19, are looking for a graduate who is caring, considerate and resilient. They are looking for someone who is positive, enthusiastic and fun. An understanding of Psychology, Special Educational Needs and Mental Health will be beneficial.
