How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fire and Security Engineer

    Basic Salary up to £36,000

    We are recruiting for a Fire and Security Engineer on behalf of a well-established and growing Fire & Security company. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to add another engineer to their team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with around 3+ years' experience who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive business that genuinely invests in its engineers. We've successfully placed engineers with this company previously, and the feedback has been excellent.

    The role will involve servicing and fault finding across a range of Fire & Security systems, working on commercial, domestic and educational sites throughout the North West.

    Responsibilities as a Fire and Security Engineer

    * Servicing, fault finding and maintenance of Fire & Security systems

    * Working across Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control systems

    * Ensuring all work is completed in line with industry standards and company procedures

    * Working across commercial, domestic and school environments

    * Participation in a 1 in 4 weeks call-out rota

    * Covering the Northwest region

    Package & Benefits for a Fire and Security Engineer

    * Basic Salary up to £36,000

    * Travel time paid after 30 minutes each way

    * 1 in 4 weeks call-out rota

    * £200 per week standby payment

    * £100 per call-out, plus overtime paid after the first hour

    * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
