How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Residential Support Worker
    Location: Sheffield
    2 Bed, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties
    Salary: £31,616.16 - £38,616 per annum + sleep-in allowance £7000 per year
    Contract: Full-time, permanent, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins as required
    Driving Licence- Essential

    Are you an experienced and passionate child residential care professional looking to make a real difference? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team providing high-quality therapeutic care to children and young people in a supportive, nurturing, and child-centred home.

    As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering outstanding residential care that meets the individual needs of each child. You will help create a safe, stable, and positive environment where children can thrive, develop independence, and build resilience.

    Key responsibilities

    Provide strong shift leadership and act as the responsible person in the absence of senior management.

    Support and guide staff through mentoring, induction, training, and reflective practice.

    Ensure children are listened to, involved in decisions about their care, and supported to express their views.

    Maintain safeguarding standards, accurate records, and compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations.

    Build trusting relationships with children and young people using trauma-informed and child-centred approaches.

    Support daily routines, care planning, behaviour management, and the overall running of the home.

    About you

    We are looking for someone with:

    Minimum 2 years' experience in a children's residential care setting.

    Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, attachment, and trauma-informed practice.

    Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, trauma, and challenging behaviour.

    Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

    A calm, resilient, nurturing, and child-centred approach.

    A full clean UK driving licence is desirable.
