How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We're looking for an Assistant Engineer or Senior Civil Engineering Technician to join our growing Civils and Infrastructure team.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including highways, drainage and development schemes, while being part of a supportive, collaborative team that values professional development and career progression.

    What you can expect:

    ✔ A friendly, family-owned consultancy with over 45 years of engineering excellence

    At Wilde, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact while developing your skills alongside experienced engineers and technicians.

    Key responsibilities

    * Producing accurate and coordinated technical drawings and civil engineering design information using AutoCAD.

    * Assisting with the design and delivery of highway drainage, earthworks and general civil infrastructure schemes.

    * Supporting engineers in the preparation of calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.

    * Assisting in the development and refinement of infrastructure designs from concept through to detailed design.

    * Preparing and reviewing drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with client requirements, statutory authority standards and adoptable standards (including Section 278/38, S104 and S106 agreements where applicable).

    * Maintaining drawing standards, CAD consistency and quality control across project deliverables.

    * Liaising with engineers, technicians, clients and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated design information.

    * Supporting project delivery by helping to manage design programmes and responding to technical queries during design and construction.

    * Contributing to continuous improvement within the team by sharing knowledge and promoting best practice.

    Qualifications and experience

    * HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).

    * Proficient in AutoCAD (essential).

    * Experience using Civil 3D would be advantageous but is not essential.

    * Strong practical industry experience may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.

    * Broad understanding of UK civil engineering standards and design practices, including highways and drainage guidance, is desirable.

    * Varied and interesting project work.

    * Opportunity to join a rapidly expanding consultancy.

    * Excellent career progression and professional development.

    * The opportunity to contribute to resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects across the UK.

    * Paid overtime.

    * Competitive salary.

    * 25 days annual leave.

    * Cycle to Work scheme.

    * Organised social events
