How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: Full Time (36 hpw) + Part Time (24 hpw)

    Working Pattern: Days, Nights + Weekends

    Our vision is to make sure all older people have the opportunity to live fulfilled lives, could you help us achieve this?

    We are looking for people who are passionate about care and want to support older people to live well in later life. We currently have an opportunity for someone to join us as a Health Care Assistant in Malvern.

    With a person-focused approach to care, Bradbury Court, Perrin's and Davenham are picturesque homes situated in beautiful grounds in Malvern. Specialising in care for people with dementia, as well as residential and nursing care, we have a dedicated, well-trained and compassionate team of staff that care for our residents.

    About us

    A caring organisation with a rich history.

    For over 120 years, we have been helping older people live well and find fulfilment in later life. Through our care homes, day centres and grants programme, we provide support, connection and dignity when it is needed most. We also work with partners to extend our impact and ensure older people remain at the heart of their communities.

    As a charity, all surplus income from our paid-for services is reinvested into our other charitable activities to enable us to reach more people. We also rely on the generosity of the public, trusts, foundations, and companies to deliver these often life-changing services.

    Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal is Friends of the Elderly's Patron and Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra is the charity’s President. We will always:

    * Promote enhanced wellbeing

    * Strive for excellence

    * Treat people with respect

    * Keep everyone safe

    This isn’t just a job; it’s about making a difference to older people’s lives every day.

    No prior experience is needed, as we will give you all the training you’ll need to excel in this role. All you need to bring is a passion for care.

    About the role

We will provide you with the tools and guidance to develop your skills and confidence in this role.

    To ensure we can achieve this, our shift patterns include evenings, weekends, and some unsociable hours.

    What skills do I need?

    We are looking for people who are empathetic, respectful, self-motivated, flexible, reliable, willing to go the extra mile and able to work as part of a team. You will need great communication and interpersonal skills, so that you can form solid relationships with our residents, along with number and digital skills and the ability to problem solve and adapt to situations.
