How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected Alternative Provision within a nationally recognised multi-academy trust. This specialist setting supports pupils who thrive in smaller class environments, where personalised learning, strong relationships and high expectations help young people overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Science Teacher who is passionate about delivering engaging lessons whilst making a lasting impact on pupils who require additional support.

    The Role

As Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting teaching to meet the individual needs of learners within a nurturing and supportive environment.

Working alongside experienced pastoral and inclusion teams, you will play a key role in promoting academic achievement, confidence and positive behaviour.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
    • Differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs.
    • Create a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
    • Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews where appropriate.
    • Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
    • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and external professionals.
    • Promote high expectations, resilience and positive learning behaviours.

    The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

    • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
    • Has experience teaching Science within Secondary Education.
    • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
    • Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.
    • Can build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
    • Is resilient, adaptable and committed to improving outcomes for every learner.

    Why Apply?

    • Small class sizes allowing for personalised teaching.
    • Excellent support from experienced pastoral and SEN teams.
    • Opportunity to make a genuine impact on young people's lives.
    • Ongoing CPD and career development.
    • Join a nationally recognised and values-driven multi-academy trust.

If you are an enthusiastic Science Teacher seeking a rewarding role where every day makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.
