How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced MEICA Project Manager to join a leading civil engineering and utilities contractor delivering major wastewater improvement projects across a long-term Southern Water framework. This is an excellent opportunity for a MEICA Project Manager to lead the delivery of non-infrastructure wastewater schemes, including upgrades to treatment works, process plant improvements and complex MEICA installations that support the resilience and performance of critical water infrastructure.

The successful MEICA Project Manager will oversee projects from design through to commissioning, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery while managing programme, commercial performance and stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the delivery of MEICA projects from inception through to commissioning and final handover.

    * Manage non-infrastructure wastewater treatment schemes, including process plant upgrades and refurbishment projects.

    * Oversee the installation and commissioning of MCCs, control panels, instrumentation, chemical dosing systems, pumping equipment and associated MEICA assets.

    * Manage NEC contracts, including Early Warning Notices (EWNs), Compensation Events (CEs), change control and commercial performance.

    * Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, forecasts and resource plans to ensure successful project delivery.

    * Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site management teams.

    * Ensure all works are delivered safely, to specification, on programme and within budget.

    * Promote a strong health, safety, environmental and quality culture across all project activities.

    * Manage project risks, technical interfaces and design coordination to ensure buildability and efficient delivery.

    * Maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders and framework partners through clear communication and proactive project management.

    * Produce accurate project reports, commercial updates and progress reviews for senior management.

    * Drive continuous improvement, value engineering and lessons learned across project delivery.

    Qualifications

    * Previous experience working as a MEICA Project Manager delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects.

    * Strong background delivering non-infrastructure wastewater treatment schemes.

    * Proven experience managing MEICA installations, commissioning and process plant upgrades.

    * Good understanding of NEC contracts, commercial management, programme control and project reporting.

    * Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.

    * Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

    * SMSTS and CSCS are highly desirable.

    * Membership of APM, ICE or a recognised engineering institution would be advantageous.

    * Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Benefits

    * Competitive salary with regular salary reviews.

    * Company pension, life assurance and private medical insurance.

    * Company car or car allowance.

    * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

    * Ongoing professional development, leadership training and genuine career progression opportunities.

    * Employee Assistance Programme and flexible benefits package.

    * Long-term security working on a major wastewater framework delivering vital treatment works and process improvement projects across the South East.

If you're an experienced MEICA Project Manager looking to lead complex wastewater projects within a long-term utilities framework, we'd love to hear from you
