How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Engineer to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business operating within the aerospace sector.

This is a hands-on engineering role supporting workshop and production teams by producing accurate CAD models, technical drawings and engineering documentation. You'll play a key role in reverse engineering components, resolving obsolescence issues, maintaining engineering data and supporting manufacturing from concept through to production.

If you enjoy solving engineering challenges, working closely with manufacturing teams and contributing to continuous improvement, this could be the ideal opportunity.

    Key Responsibilities

    CAD Design & Reverse Engineering

    * Reverse engineer components and assemblies from physical samples and existing drawings.

    * Produce accurate 2D engineering drawings and 3D CAD models to industry standards.

    * Specify materials, tolerances, fits and surface finishes.

    * Ensure drawings are suitable for manufacture and inspection.

    Engineering Documentation

    * Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).

    * Produce complete engineering documentation packs for manufacturing and procurement.

    * Maintain accurate engineering records and technical documentation.

    Inspection & Material Analysis

    * Identify materials and specifications during reverse engineering activities.

    * Liaise with external testing laboratories where material analysis is required.

    * Support dimensional inspection activities, including CMM where applicable.

    * Assist with developing inspection methods and acceptance criteria.

    Configuration Control

    * Manage drawing revisions and engineering change control.

    * Ensure all engineering documentation is correctly version controlled and approved before release.

    * Maintain full traceability of engineering updates.

    Manufacturing Support

    * Produce clear work instructions for manufacturing teams.

    * Collaborate closely with production personnel to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.

    * Provide technical support to resolve production issues.

    * Assist with tooling, fixtures and test equipment development.

    Continuous Improvement

    * Support testing of components and assemblies.

    * Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, documentation and manufacturing efficiency.

    * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and production.

    Skills & Experience

    Essential

Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, BricsCAD, AutoCAD or similar.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and tolerancing.

Good knowledge of engineering materials and their mechanical properties.

    Excellent attention to detail.

Strong problem-solving skills with a practical engineering approach.

Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing teams.

    Desirable

    Experience in reverse engineering.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection.

Experience using CMM equipment or dimensional inspection techniques.

Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.

Understanding of document control and configuration management.

    What's on Offer

    Competitive salary dependent on experience.

Opportunity to work on technically challenging aerospace engineering projects.

    Supportive and collaborative engineering environment.

Long-term career development within a growing engineering business.

Stable, permanent position with opportunities to broaden your technical skills.

If you're a CAD Engineer with a passion for precision engineering and enjoy working closely with manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, we'd love to hear from you
