How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering long-term water and utilities infrastructure projects across a major UK water framework. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Agent to take ownership of clean water infrastructure projects, including large diameter pressure pipelines, network connections, commissioning activities and associated civil engineering works.

The successful Site Agent will lead project delivery from site set-up through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent client relationships throughout.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Manage the day-to-day delivery of water and utilities projects from mobilisation through to completion.

    * Lead site teams, including Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.

    * Produce, implement and manage construction programmes, short-term look-ahead plans, RAMS, ITPs and project documentation.

    * Oversee quality assurance throughout construction, ensuring works comply with specifications and are delivered right first time.

    * Manage large diameter clean water pipeline installations, network connections, testing and commissioning activities.

    * Coordinate temporary works implementation, selection and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

    * Manage permits to dig, service avoidance activities and streetworks in accordance with current legislation.

    * Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality standards across site operations.

    * Administer NEC contract requirements, including Early Warning Notices (EWNs), Compensation Events (CEs), cost forecasting and programme management.

    * Manage procurement activities, subcontractors, plant and materials to support efficient project delivery.

    * Coordinate design inputs with engineering teams to ensure practical, buildable and cost-effective solutions.

    * Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and statutory authorities while maintaining excellent customer service.

    * Produce accurate progress reports, commercial information, site records and project updates.

    * Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions to maximise project performance.

    Qualifications:

    * Previous experience working as a Site Agent delivering civil engineering, water or utilities infrastructure projects.

    * Strong knowledge of clean water infrastructure, pressure pipelines, commissioning and network connections.

    * Proven experience managing NEC contracts, commercial performance, programmes and subcontractors.

    * Good understanding of CDM Regulations, temporary works, design management and construction health and safety.

    * HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

    * SMSTS, CSCS, NRSWA and Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor certification are essential.

    * Experience issuing permits to dig, service avoidance and managing streetworks activities.

    * Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office.

    * EUSR National Water Hygiene, Confined Spaces, Service Avoidance training, IOSH or professional membership (ICE/MICE) would be advantageous.

    Benefits:

    * Competitive salary with regular reviews.

    * Company pension, life assurance and private medical cover.

    * Company vehicle or car allowance.

    * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

    * Ongoing training, professional development and genuine career progression opportunities.

    * Long-term work on a secured water and utilities framework delivering major infrastructure investment.

If you're an experienced Site Agent looking to lead complex water and utilities projects within a long-term framework environment, we'd love to hear from you
