Location: Durham International Study Centre, Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: up to £33.57/hour
The purpose of the role is to deliver highly effective modules at International Foundation Year (Pre Undergraduate, level 3 and Pre masters, level 6), in the Centre. We are looking for candidates with a range of experience in delivering Psychology teaching.
ABOUT THE ROLE
* Delivering modules (face-to-face) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the development of modules.
* Developing modules from module specifications. This will include schemes of learning along with appropriate development of learning resources.
* Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students.
* Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre’s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to same.
* Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process.
* Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance.
* Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students.
* Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff.
* Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC.
* Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression.
* Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest linked to subject.
ABOUT YOU
* A recognised teaching qualification (desirable)
* A Master’s degree or equivalent in a related subject area
* Fluent spoken and written English
* Teaching experience delivering Psychology programmes within a Further Education or Higher Education context
* Experience of working with international students face to face (Desirable)
* Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, etc)
* A student-centred approach
* Strong record-keeping skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Flexibility
* Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
* Strong sense of teamwork
