How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Chew Magna, Bristol
    Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)
    Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4.30pm (30 minutes Lunch)

    Overview

    Are you eager to kickstart a career in electrical manufacturing? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Wireperson to join our growing production team in Chew Magna, Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop specialist skills in a supportive and professional environment. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided.

    Responsibilities

    As a Trainee Wireperson, you will work alongside experienced professionals and be trained to:

    Assemble electrical control panels and components.
    Wire control panels using engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
    Prepare, strip, crimp, and terminate cables.
    Fit electrical components and sub-assemblies.
    Conduct basic electrical testing and quality inspections.
    Utilize a variety of hand tools and assembly equipment.
    Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping.
    Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures at all times.

    Qualifications

    We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

    A genuine interest in electrical or electronic assembly.
    Strong practical skills and a willingness to learn.
    Excellent attention to detail.
    Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
    GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, or a technical subject (advantageous but not essential).
    Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or workshop environments is beneficial but not required.

    Day-to-Day

    Your typical day will involve:

    Learning and applying wiring techniques under the guidance of experienced team members.
    Assembling and testing electrical components to ensure quality and functionality.
