A leading main contractor is looking for a talented Senior Design Manager to take charge of the design delivery on a landmark £35m structural refurbishment and CAT B fit-out of a 5-star hotel in London's West End. The project
A structural refurbishment combined with a high-specification CAT B fit-out, where design quality is everything. You'll be central to translating a demanding client vision into a buildable, coordinated and beautifully finished 5-star product.
The role
You'll lead and manage the entire design process from your appointment to completion, coordinating the consultant team, managing the flow of information, and ensuring the design is developed, resolved and delivered in line with programme, budget and the client's exacting standards. You'll be the bridge between the design intent and the delivery on site.
Key responsibilities
* Managing the full design process across structural refurbishment and CAT B fit-out
* Coordinating architects, engineers and specialist consultants
* Controlling the design programme, information release schedules and RFIs
* Reviewing designs for buildability, compliance and value
* Managing the interface between design, procurement and site delivery
* Ensuring design quality is maintained to a 5-star standard throughout
What you'll need
* Proven experience as a Design Manager on high-end refurbishment and fit-out projects
* A track record on schemes of £20m+, ideally in hospitality, luxury residential or premium commercial
* Strong grasp of both structural refurbishment and CAT B fit-out design
* Excellent coordination, communication and consultant-management skills
* Relevant qualifications; a design, architecture or engineering background is advantageous
