How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Learning Support Assistant (2 Positions Available)
    Location: Central Manchester
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    Aspire People are delighted to be working in partnership with a highly successful secondary school in Central Manchester to recruit two Learning Support Assistants for long-term, full-time positions starting in September 2026.

    We have built an excellent relationship with this multi-academy trust over a number of years and have consistently supplied high-quality candidates across a range of teaching and support staff roles. Due to continued growth and the school's commitment to providing exceptional support for all learners, they are now looking to appoint two enthusiastic graduates to join their dedicated support team.

    This opportunity is ideal for graduates considering a career in education, including aspiring teachers or educational psychologists, who are passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential.

    The Role
    As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support students who require additional help accessing the curriculum. You will provide both one-to-one and small group support, helping students build confidence, develop independence, and make excellent academic progress.

    You will support a diverse cohort of students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and pupils who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL). The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, with students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and many different languages spoken across the school community.

    We are looking for graduates who have:
    * A UK degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, English, Mathematics, Science, or a related subject.
    * A strong academic background.
    * Previous experience working with children or young people through tutoring, university placements, schools, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or similar settings.
    * A genuine passion for education and supporting students to succeed.
    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    * The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
    * A proactive, patient, and resilient approach to supporting learning.

    This role would be perfect for:
    * Aspiring Teachers
    * Aspiring Educational Psychologists
    * Psychology Graduates
    * English, Maths, or Science Graduates
    * Individuals looking to gain valuable school-based experience before teacher training or postgraduate study.

    Requirements
    * Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
    * References covering the last two years.
    * Right to work in the UK.
    * Previous experience working with children or young people is essential.

    Why Aspire People?
    * Long-established partnership with this successful academy trust.
    * Access to long-term opportunities in outstanding schools.
    * Dedicated consultant providing ongoing support throughout your placement.
    * Competitive rates of pay.
    * Excellent opportunity to gain invaluable classroom experience within a supportive secondary school.

    The school is looking to interview suitable candidates as soon as possible, so early applications are strongly encouraged.

    If you are a motivated graduate looking to begin or further your career in education and would like to make a real difference to young people's lives, we would love to hear from you.

    Apply today with Aspire People to be considered for this exciting September 2026 opportunity.

    Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business. Aspire People is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects every candidate to share this commitment. Placements are subject, to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks
