How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Cambridge (flexible working)
Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits

We are working in partnership with a highly regarded construction consultancy to appoint an experienced Associate Director / Director – Project Management to join their Cambridge team.

This is a senior leadership role within a growing project delivery function, offering the opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of complex, high-value schemes across life sciences, R&D, commercial, education, healthcare, and advanced technology sectors.

The business has a strong regional presence, a secure pipeline of work, and a collaborative leadership culture, making this an excellent opportunity for an established project leader looking to take the next step in their career.

    The Role

You will take a key leadership position within the project management team, with responsibility for:

    * Leading the successful delivery of major construction projects from inception through to completion and handover

    * Acting as the senior client interface, building and maintaining trusted long-term relationships

    * Overseeing full project lifecycle management, including programme, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management

    * Managing a small team of project managers, providing guidance, structure, and professional development support

    * Coordinating and leading multi-disciplinary internal and external teams across complex schemes

    * Driving project performance in terms of time, cost, quality, and client satisfaction

    * Supporting business growth through client engagement, repeat business, and contribution to bids and proposals

    * Playing an active role in shaping team strategy and strengthening delivery capability within the region

    About You

We are seeking a senior project professional who is confident operating at Associate Director / Director level, likely with:

    * Strong consultancy background in Project Management / Project Delivery

    * Proven experience delivering complex UK construction projects across relevant sectors (life sciences, commercial, education, healthcare etc.)

    * Demonstrable experience in leading client relationships at senior level

    * Experience managing and mentoring project teams, including smaller sub-teams

    * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence project outcomes and decisions

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    * Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on when required

    The Opportunity

This is a chance to join a well-established and growing consultancy offering:

    * A senior leadership role with real influence over project delivery and team development

    * A strong pipeline of secured, technically interesting projects across key growth sectors

    * Competitive salary with a strong performance-related bonus structure

    * Clear progression opportunities into broader regional or operational leadership

    * A flexible and modern working environment with strong team collaboration

    * Exposure to high-profile clients and long-term strategic partnerships

    Next Steps

This is a confidential appointment. If you are open to a discreet conversation, we would welcome the opportunity to share further detail and explore whether the role aligns with your longer-term career ambitions
