How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: English Teacher 

    Location: Redbridge

    Smart Teachers are recruiting for an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school from September.

    The Role

    Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.
    Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that promote high levels of student achievement.
    Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, providing targeted intervention where required.
    Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking and independent learning.
    Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment activities and the wider life of the school.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Has experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
    Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and strong classroom management skills.
    Has high expectations of all learners and a commitment to raising attainment.
    Is an effective communicator who enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team.
    Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
