How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Field Service Engineer

    Location: Multiple Locations Available
    Salary: Up to £39,(Apply online only) + Overtime + Door-to-Door Pay
    Benefits: Company Van, Fuel Card, Tools, Uniform, 31 Days Holiday, Company Pension

    An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established material handling business specialising in the service, maintenance and repair of manual and electric pallet trucks.

    This is a field-based role where you'll work from home, managing your own territory and visiting customer sites to carry out planned servicing, breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance. You'll be joining a supportive business that values its engineers and offers excellent earning potential through door-to-door pay and overtime.

    The Role

    Service, maintain and repair manual and electric pallet trucks.
    Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults at customer sites.
    Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
    Complete service reports and associated paperwork accurately.
    Provide excellent customer service while representing the business on-site.
    Manage your own van stock and maintain company equipment.
    Work independently across your designated territory.
    Occasional overnight stays may be required.
    The Candidate

    We're keen to speak with engineers from a variety of backgrounds, including material handling, powered access, plant, agricultural, forklift, automotive or general mechanical service environments.

    You'll ideally have:

    Previous experience servicing or repairing material handling equipment
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    Good customer-facing communication skills.
    The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
    A full UK driving licence.
    Desirable

    Experience working on pallet trucks or material handling equipment.
    LOLER certification.
    Electrical & mechanical fault-finding experience.
