How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

PWHytek Ltd are currently recruiting for a number of Senior and Principal EC&I Engineers to support a major programme of work within the UK nuclear sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile engineering programme, supporting the design, operation and ongoing safety of nuclear power generation. We are looking for experienced engineers who can bring specialist knowledge from operational nuclear facilities or nuclear plant design to support technically challenging projects.

    The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will provide technical expertise across EC&I engineering activities, supporting the delivery of engineering solutions within a highly regulated environment.

Successful candidates will contribute to engineering assessments, design activities, safety case justification and operational support across a range of nuclear projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Deliver high-quality mechanical or EC&I engineering solutions across nuclear projects.

    * Support engineering design, modification and substantiation activities.

    * Produce and review technical documentation, engineering calculations and design reports.

    * Contribute to safety case development and engineering justification.

    * Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.

    * Ensure compliance with relevant nuclear standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

    Essential Experience

    * Degree qualified in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I), or a related engineering discipline.

    * Experience operating at Senior or Principal Engineer level.

    * Demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas:

    * EDF Advanced Manufacturing Solutions (AMS)

    * AGR (Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor) operations

    * Ancillary plant design and safety case justification

    * Graphite engineering and graphite core assessment

    * Experience working within the nuclear industry or another highly regulated engineering environment.

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

    Desirable Experience

    * Experience supporting operational nuclear power stations.

    * Knowledge of UK nuclear safety cases and regulatory requirements.

    * Experience delivering engineering modifications or life extension programmes.

    * Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.

    What's on Offer?

    * Opportunity to work on major UK nuclear programmes.

    * Hybrid working based in Bristol or Gloucester.

    * Long-term contract opportunity.

    * Technically challenging projects within a collaborative engineering environment.

    * Opportunity to contribute to the continued safe operation of the UK's nuclear fleet.

If you are a Senior or Principal EC&I Engineer with experience in EDF AMS, AGR operations, ancillary plant design and safety case justification, or graphite engineering, we would be keen to hear from you.
