How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Reginald Gray continues to partner with several leading contractors across the Oxfordshire market and we're keen to speak with experienced Site Managers who are considering their next move.

    Our clients deliver high quality construction projects across the prime residential, heritage, private education and research and development sectors, working on both new build and refurbishment schemes. Typical project values range from £2m to £50m, offering a variety of technically challenging projects.

    Rather than recruiting for one specific vacancy, we're looking to connect with Site Managers who possess a particular blend of experience and are interested in hearing about opportunities that genuinely align with their background and career aspirations.

    We're particularly interested in speaking with Site Managers who:

    * Have progressed from either a recognised trade background or a construction related educational route.

    * Have a proven track record of delivering complex new build and refurbishment projects.

    * Have experience working in constrained, live or busy environments such as Oxford, London or Reading where logistics and stakeholder management are critical.

    * Can demonstrate longevity and consistency with established main contractors, reflecting commitment and a strong project delivery record.

    * Are confident leading site teams, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining high standards of quality, safety and programme delivery.
