How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Interim Payroll Manager - College

    Location: Hull, United Kingdom
    Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (pro rata)
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
    Start Date: 15th July
    Contract: Interim (8 weeks initially, with potential for extension)

    Tradewind Recruitment, a leading education supply specialist, is currently recruiting on behalf of a college in Hull for an experienced Interim Payroll Manager.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional to provide short-term cover within a busy college environment. The role is due to start on 15th July and will initially run for 8 weeks, with the possibility of being extended depending on business needs. The college is centrally located in Hull and easily accessible via public transport.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
    Oversee payroll administration, including statutory deductions and pension contributions.
    Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation and payroll best practice.
    Resolve payroll queries from employees promptly and professionally.
    Maintain accurate payroll records and produce relevant reports.
    Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll information is up to date.Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you must:

    Have previous experience managing payroll, ideally within an education or public sector setting.
    Have strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and processes.
    Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
    Have the ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
    Provide proof of your right to work in the UK.
    Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one prior to starting.What We Offer
