How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Due to continued growth and a strategy to grow significantly over the next three to five years, our client is searching for a motivated Data Engineer to support activities across major construction and infrastructure projects.

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the configuration of IoT sensors and the reviewing of data across all projects. This includes providing technical support and managing client data for all data-visualisation requirements via an online platform. Our client records and tracks data from a range of monitoring instruments used to assess ground conditions, water and air quality, geotechnical and / or structural behaviour, and other key environmental parameters.

You will operate largely from the company’s London office and receive full training on our client’s equipment, systems and digital platforms to deploy solutions on a wide range of construction, civil engineering and infrastructure sites. This is ideal for someone who possesses strong mathematical analytical and problem-solving skills and is eager to utilise their experience to work with advanced technologies and digital platforms to interpret, analyse and process data captured in the field to produce client reports and acting as an advisory to clients.

    The Role

    * Act as the primary point of contact for customers during ongoing operations, coordinating with technical, operational, and business teams to deliver effective online solutions.

    * Own the end-to-end configuration of the company’s visualisation and reporting platform with the Operations Manager, including environment setup, user management, behaviours, alerts, and reporting.

    * Monitor IoT sensors and platform performance using supervision tools, ensuring data quality, system reliability, and correct operation of alerts and reports.

    * Provide advanced technical support for IoT data and advise and train operational teams on sensor and data best practices.

    * Contribute to the continuous improvement of the solution in collaboration with product managers and developers, identifying opportunities across software, hardware, IoT technologies, and monitoring methodologies.

    The Person

    * Experience related to any of the aforementioned disciplines or sectors

    * A strong interest in mathematical calculations, innovation and emerging technologies.

    * Passion for the construction sector, with knowledge of structural and environmental topics.

    * Experience with IoT technologies and data acquisition systems.

    * Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.

    * Comfortable working with digital tools, including data processing and Python scripting.

    * A collaborative team player who is curious, conscientious, and open-minded

    * Curiosity, attention to detail, and strong self-motivation.

    * Work effectively as part of a team in an international and multicultural environment.

    * Good adaptability and problem-solving skills

    Our Client

Our client continues to grow and enjoy commercial success and is looking to expand its team in London. This is a new role for an ambitious and career focused Engineer with experience in the instrumentation and monitoring system sector.

Our client is a subsidiary of a global group which uses the best of technology and data to provide simple and unique smart solutions that meet the environmental, health, safety, productivity and sustainability challenges of construction players and infrastructure managers. By deploying its specialised solutions, our client offers a wide variety of environmental, structural and geotechnical based service offerings during the construction and operation phases of projects.

Our client positions itself as an expert and co-pilot for operations managers, to enable them to manage their projects with the right information, at the right time to make the right decisions, with the ultimate aim of being an ally for more secure and sustainable constructions.

An attractive salary and benefits package (permanent) is on offer to the successful Senior Monitoring Technician candidate, along with longevity and security of work, given the company’s forward order workload and their continued commitment to sustainable growth
