How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: c£50k-£60k basic plus competitive package inc car or allowance, pension, healthcare and bonus.
    Company & Project: Apple Technical Recruitment are working alongside an award winning Tier 1 Main Contractor operating in the Mixed-Use, Education, Healthcare, Leisure and Commercial sectors, seeking to recruit an experienced an effective Quantity Surveyor to complement their Commercial Management team, based in East Anglia and working on local project initially in East Norfolk.
    The successful candidate will be leading their own sector of a large project and working alongside an experienced Managing QS, with a pathway and development opportunities to leading their own projects c£10m+ in the future.
    Our client has an exceptionally strong order book, is a highly profitable business and boasts an exciting pipeline of projects across the region.
    Duties & Responsibilities:
    * The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to;
    * Measurement & valuations.
    * Applications for payment.
    * Reconciling accounts.
    * Dealing with sub-contract enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts.
    * Good communication skills, contract administration and negotiation is desirable for this role.
    Previous experience working for a Main Contractor is essential for this position.
    Desirable Experience:
    * Minimum 5 years+ experience as a QS on Construction projects.
    * Good negotiation skills and previous experience measurement.
    * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
    * Previous Roles: Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Intermediate Quantity Surveyor OR Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
    Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable.
