How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Manager (Construction)
    Meltham, Commutable from Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Halifax, Wakefield, Barnsley

    Are you a Technical Manager, Senior Architectural Technician, Architectural Technologist or Construction Design professional with experience in External Wall Insulation?
    On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading company where you'll lead a technical team, manage a wide variety of construction projects, and work closely with clients, contractors and internal departments to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
    This company is looking to strengthen its technical function with a Technical Manager who can oversee project delivery, manage technical documentation and processes, provide expert support to customers and installers, and lead a small technical team through all stages of project delivery.
    The day-to-day of this role includes managing the technical team, reviewing project designs, producing and approving technical documentation, supporting CAD drawings and calculations, attending client and site meetings, liaising with contractors and consultants, and providing technical guidance to the sales, operations and production teams.
    The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background, experience with External Wall Insulation (EWI), façades or building envelope projects, be proficient with AutoCAD and SketchUp, and have previous experience managing projects or leading a technical team.
    The role:

    Technical Manager
    Managing the Technical Department and overseeing project delivery
    Reviewing technical designs, documentation and calculations
    Supporting clients, contractors and internal departments
    Office-based role in Meltham with occasional site visits
    The person:

    Technical Manager, Senior Architectural Technician, Architectural Technologist or similar construction professional
    Experience within External Wall Insulation (EWI), façades, retrofit or the wider construction industry
    Proficient with AutoCAD and SketchUp
    HND or Degree in a construction-related discipline
    Knowledge of Revit, BIM, WUFI, CDM or structural engineering would be advantageousBBH(phone number removed)
