How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Technical Project Manager – Through Life Support

    Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 DOE
    Location: Staffordshire
    Role: Permanent
Sector: Maritime / Defence / Manufacturing / Repair
Security: British nationals only due to security vetting requirements

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join a growing Through Life Support team within a specialist maritime and defence manufacturing environment.

Due to continued growth and increasing demand from customers, the business is looking to strengthen its project delivery team. This is a customer-facing role where you will manage manufacturing and repair projects from initial RFQ through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and performance standards.

The successful candidate will act as a key link between the customer, engineering, operations, supply chain and commercial teams. You will need to combine strong project delivery skills with technical understanding, commercial awareness and excellent customer relationship management.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Manage manufacturing and repair projects from RFQ stage through to final delivery.

    *

Act as the main point of contact for assigned customers and projects.

    *

Ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and delivered in line with agreed cost, quality, schedule and performance targets.

    *

Work with internal teams to define technical and commercial solutions that meet customer needs.

    *

Coordinate with engineering, operations, supply chain and wider business teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively.

    *

Track project progress, identify risks and take corrective action where required.

    *

Prepare and present project updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders.

    *

Build strong, long-term relationships with customers, identifying opportunities for repeat or additional business.

    *

Support a collaborative team environment, encouraging clear communication and shared ownership of project goals.

    *

Carry out any other reasonable tasks relevant to the role.

    Skills and Experience Required

    *

Experience in manufacturing, engineering project delivery, operational project management or a Through Life Support environment.

    *

Previous experience managing technical, repair, manufacturing or customer delivery projects.

    *

Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.

    *

Good technical understanding, ideally within electronics, electrical, mechanical, maritime, defence, aerospace or similar engineering environments.

    *

Commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer expectations and business requirements.

    *

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, changing priorities and conflicting demands.

    *

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    *

Confident working with internal teams including engineering, operations, supply chain and commercial departments.

    *

Ability to work independently, take ownership and deal with ambiguity.

    *

Strong attention to detail and the ability to influence others to meet deadlines.

    *

Awareness of health and safety requirements and legislation.

    *

PC literate, including Microsoft Office. Experience with JIRA and Confluence would be advantageous.

    Qualifications Required

    *

HND level qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline such as electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering.

    Additional Requirements

    *

    Full UK driving licence required.

    *

Flexibility to travel to other UK and overseas sites when required.

    *

Flexibility to work additional hours, including occasional weekends or out-of-hours support, depending on customer needs.

    *

Candidates must meet the relevant security vetting requirements.

    *

Due to national security requirements, applicants must be British nationals. Dual nationals may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

    The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit someone from a technical project management, manufacturing project delivery, engineering coordination, defence, maritime, aerospace, repair, aftermarket or Through Life Support background.

You will be comfortable managing customer expectations, coordinating internal teams and ensuring technical projects are delivered successfully from enquiry stage through to completion
