How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Business

We are partnering with a world-leading manufacturer and provider of life safety equipment and emergency evacuation solutions. Operating with the highest standards of compliance, integrity, and transparency, they protect lives globally by ensuring critical equipment is always ready for emergency use. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join their expanding regional team.

    Role Purpose
As a Field Service Technician, you will serve as the primary face of the business, responsible for executing planned and reactive service visits directly on customer sites within your designated territory. You will carry out critical equipment installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance work to the highest quality and safety standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * On-Site Maintenance: Complete high-quality planned and reactive servicing on customer sites using standard company procedures and checklists.

    * Equipment Installation: Install a variety of specialised safety and patient-handling products efficiently across diverse client facilities.
Planning & Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule your service visits using internal planning tools to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

    * Digital Reporting: Complete and submit accurate digital service reports daily via a company tablet, ensuring precise notes and imagery are provided for customer records.

    * Commercial Awareness: Identify and document potential sales, upgrades, or replacement opportunities during service visits to pass on to the internal commercial team.

    * Collaboration: Liaise regularly with scheduling, internal sales, and customer experience teams, and participate in regular team meetings (remotely and occasionally at the regional head office).

    * Inventory Control: Manage local vehicle stock levels and submit monthly stock reports.

    What We Are Looking For

    Essential:

    * Proven experience in a similar field-based maintenance, engineering, mechanical, or technical product servicing role.

    * Exceptional customer service skills with a track record of delivering a professional, first-class client experience.

    * High standard of written and verbal English with strong attention to detail for accurate report writing.

    * Proficient in using digital tools, specifically tablets and standard communication applications.

    * A strong commitment to health and safety policies and strict on-site regulations.

    * A proactive problem-solver who can work autonomously and adapt to changing client schedules.

    * A valid UK driving licence (essential for travel across the target postcodes).

    Desirable:

    * Prior experience maintaining medical devices, healthcare equipment, or life-safety hardware.

    * Knowledge of, or experience within, the Health & Safety or Fire Safety sectors.

    * Experience using digital auditing or asset management software.

    Key Competencies

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who naturally aims to:

    * Innovate: Develop practical solutions to mechanical and technical challenges faced in the field.

    * Collaborate: Share practical knowledge with colleagues and support the on boarding of new team members.

    * Adapt: Remain resilient and flexible to accommodate immediate client emergencies or changing schedules.

    * Deliver: Ensure every task is completed on time, in full, and always prioritises the customer’s safety
