How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Sales Engineer – Pumping Systems

    Location: Cheshire, CW3
    Salary: 28-31k

    We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated sales professional with a strong engineering background and experience in pumping systems to develop new business, manage key accounts, and provide technical solutions to customers across multiple industries.

    The Role

    As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for:

    *

    Developing new business opportunities while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.

    *

    Providing technical advice and recommending pumping solutions that meet customer requirements.

    *

    Preparing quotations, proposals, and technical specifications.

    *

    Conducting customer site visits and surveys.

    *

    Working closely with internal engineering and service teams to deliver projects successfully.

    *

    Negotiating contracts and closing sales opportunities.

    *

    Monitoring market trends and identifying new opportunities.

    *

    Representing the company at customer meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.

    *

    Achieving agreed sales targets and contributing to business growth.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have:

    *

    Experience in technical sales within the pumping industry or a related fluid handling sector.

    *

    Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps, booster sets, wastewater pumps, pressure systems, or associated equipment.

    *

    An engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent industry experience.

    *

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    *

    Commercial awareness with a consultative approach to sales.

    *

    The ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

    *

    Good organisational and time management skills.

    *

    Own transport (due to office location)

    Desirable Experience

    Experience working with products such as:

    *

    Water boosting systems

    *

    Wastewater pumping stations

    *

    HVAC pumping systems

    *

    Industrial process pumps

    *

    Pump controls and variable speed drives

    *

    Mechanical services or water treatment equipment
