How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Receptionist Winchester Salary £24,500

    The Role

    This is a highly visible, front-facing role at the heart of a vibrant charitable community in central Winchester. As the first point of contact, you'll create a warm, professional, and welcoming experience for residents, visitors, and stakeholders, whether face-to-face or over the phone. This is a full-time on-site role working Monday to Friday from (phone number removed)pm

    Alongside delivering exceptional customer service, you'll play a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly by offering flexible administrative support across multiple teams. From managing shared inboxes and coordinating diaries to supporting community events and communications, this role offers real variety and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.

    You'll also be instrumental in connecting people, supporting residents, guiding visitors, and helping ensure events, services, and communications are delivered seamlessly.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience, handling enquiries in person, by phone, or via email and directing them appropriately
    Act as a central hub of communication, confidently liaising with internal teams, residents, and external contacts
    Manage shared inboxes and calendars, ensuring bookings, appointments, and events are organised effectively
    Provide proactive administrative support across departments, adapting to changing priorities
    Coordinate meeting logistics, including preparing rooms, arranging refreshments, and resetting spaces
    Process payments (cash, card, and cheque) accurately and issue receipts where required
    Handle incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and documentation efficiently and securely
    Support the creation and distribution of engaging resident communications, including newsletters, bulletins, and flyers
    Assist in organising and administering community events, social activities, and fundraising initiatives
    Maintain accurate contact lists and support effective communication across resident groups
    Provide hands-on support to residents, responding to queries and signposting them to the right support services
    Work closely with maintenance teams to communicate essential updates and coordinate property access for works
    Assist with administrative support for community activities as needed
    Ensure noticeboards and resident information points remain current and informativeAdditional Expectations

    Always maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
    Actively participate in training, development opportunities, and performance reviews
    Follow safeguarding practices and contribute to a safe and supportive environment
    Comply with all organisational policies, including health & safety procedures
    Take a flexible approach, supporting wider team needs and responsibilities as requiredSkills

    You will need to have experience of working in a similar office-based role

    Competent in Word, Outlook, Email, Excel, Office 365 and Canva

    Excellent communication and organisational skills
