How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Graduate Product Owner

Location: Car Planet Mega Centre, Enfield

    Salary: £30,000–£35,000

    Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm

Reports to: Product and Analytics Manager

    The Opportunity

This is not a typical graduate product role.

You will work across a portfolio of full-scale technology products covering dealership operations, logistics, AI communications, vehicle buying, CRM, ecommerce, finance and customer experience:

    • AutoGrid – Dealership management and operations platform
    • RoutePortal – Logistics, driver and route management platform
    • Audiofy – AI-powered voice and customer communication platform
    • Cardaddys – Consumer car-buying website and CRM
    • Car Planet Website – Vehicle retail, finance and customer journey platform

Most graduate Product Owners would be lucky to work on one small section of one product. In this role, you will gain exposure to several live platforms used every day by hundreds of employees and thousands of customers.

The products are already established and continue to grow quickly. You will help shape new features, improve usability, solve operational problems and support their wider commercial development.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Own and manage work across several technology products.
    • Turn business problems into clear product requirements.
    • Manage roadmaps, backlogs and development priorities.
    • Coordinate developers, designers, analysts and operational teams.
    • Test features thoroughly before they are released.
    • Gather feedback directly from employees and customers.
    • Analyse product usage, customer journeys and conversion data.
    • Improve usability across internal platforms, websites and CRM systems.
    • Identify opportunities to use AI, data and automation.
    • Take responsibility for delivering projects from idea through to launch.

    The Person We're Looking For

The breadth of this role will excite the right person, but it will not suit everyone.

You must be able to handle pressure, switch between different products and problems, and remain organised when priorities move quickly. You will need to be confident, resilient and comfortable taking responsibility rather than waiting to be told what to do.

We are looking for someone who:

    • Is highly intelligent, curious and commercially minded.
    • Learns new systems and business processes quickly.
    • Can manage several competing priorities without becoming overwhelmed.
    • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Communicates confidently with both developers and senior business leaders.
    • Is obsessive about usability, detail and getting things right.
    • Has high standards, urgency and a strong bias for action.
    • Is resilient and thrives in a demanding, fast-moving environment.
    • Has a genuine interest in technology, AI, data and product development.

A strong degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data or another analytical subject is preferred. Previous full-time product experience is not required.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think logically and make data-driven decisions.
    • Passion for technology, digital products and creating great customer experiences.
    • Understanding of Agile principles and an interest in Scrum or other product development methodologies.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Curious mindset with a willingness to learn, challenge ideas and continuously improve.
    • Ability to translate business or customer requirements into clear and structured user stories.
    • Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding how products create value for customers and the business.

    Nice to Have

    • Relevant Product Management or Agile certifications (e.g. PSPO, CSPO, PSM) would be highly advantageous.
    • Internship, placement or university project related to Product Management, Business Analysis or Technology.
    • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or similar.
    • Exposure to product analytics, A/B testing or UX research.
    • Basic knowledge of SQL, Excel or data visualisation tools.
    • Interest in AI, automation and emerging digital technologies.

    Why Join Car Planet?

Few graduate roles provide this level of exposure, responsibility and product breadth.

You will not be working on theoretical projects or waiting months to see the results of your work. Our products are used live across the business every day, giving you immediate feedback and the opportunity to make a visible impact.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to gain several years' worth of product experience in a much shorter period and develop into a senior product leader.
