How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HR Graduate Programme

London (Initial 6-Month Placement) | Newcastle (Permanent Location) | 5 Days in the Office | Competitive Salary

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for two graduates to join the HR team of a highly regarded and fast-growing organisation.

This graduate programme offers an outstanding opportunity to begin your career within Human Resources, gaining exposure across key areas of the HR function whilst working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, high-performing and intellectually stimulating environment.

Successful candidates will begin with a six-month placement in the London office before relocating to Newcastle on a permanent basis. During the recruitment process, you will be considered for two specialist HR pathways—HR generalist or Early Careers. Whilst you will have the opportunity to learn more about both teams, final placement will be determined by the business based on your strengths and where you are best suited.

    The Role

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Supporting the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contract administration and employee changes

    • Coordinating interviews, assessments and candidate communications

    • Supporting graduate recruitment, university engagement and Early Careers initiatives

    • Maintaining HR systems, employee records and reporting

    • Assisting with HR projects and continuous process improvements

    • Liaising with employees, stakeholders and external providers

    • Supporting the planning and delivery of recruitment and engagement events

    • Providing high-quality administrative support across the wider HR function

    About You

    • A recent graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree (or international equivalent)

    • An excellent academic record throughout your education

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

    • Analytical, proactive and naturally curious

    • Confident managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment

    • Strong IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems

    • Previous work experience, internships or involvement in recruitment, events, student societies or customer-facing environments would be advantageous but is not essential

    • Available to start immediately or on a short notice period

    The Environment

    • 5 days per week in the office

    • Six-month placement in London before relocating to Newcastle on a permanent basis

    • Collaborative, supportive and high-performing culture

    • Excellent learning and development opportunities

    • Exposure to a broad range of HR activities from day one

    • Clear long-term career progression within a growing organisation

This is an exceptional opportunity for a high-achieving graduate looking to build a long-term career within Human Resources, where you will receive outstanding exposure, genuine responsibility and the opportunity to develop within an ambitious and evolving business.
