How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Do you want to define the engineering standards behind one of the UK's most ambitious synthetic data platforms?

Have you ever built ML infrastructure that enabled researchers and engineers to ship production AI at scale?

Are you ready to lead a growing engineering team shaping the future of synthetic data and GenAI?

We're partnering with a global market research and insights organisation that operates in over 90 countries and serves thousands of enterprise clients worldwide. They're investing heavily in a new Synthetic Data Research function, building next-generation products that combine machine learning, privacy, and software engineering to transform how market research is conducted.

This team sits at the intersection of platform engineering, MLOps, distributed systems, and Generative AI. Working alongside researchers, data scientists, and product teams, you'll help scale a platform that supports synthetic data generation, Digital Twins, and enterprise AI workloads.

This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys operating at both strategic and technical levels. You'll own platform architecture, engineering standards, team growth, and delivery execution while helping productionise cutting-edge AI research.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define and own the technical vision for a large-scale AI platform

    • Lead and grow a team of Software, Data and MLOps Engineers

    • Build scalable GCP, Kubernetes, and Vertex AI infrastructure

    • Establish engineering standards, SDLC processes, and delivery practices

    • Partner with researchers to productionise advanced AI and ML systems

    • Drive platform security, governance, compliance, and reliability initiatives

    • Optimise cloud infrastructure and GPU utilisation for GenAI workloads

    Key Details

    • Salary: £120,000–£130,000 (with flexibility)

    • Working model: Hybrid London (2–3 days on paper, currently much more flexible)

    • Location: Tower Hill, London

    • Tech stack: Python, GCP, Vertex AI, Kubernetes (GKE), Kubeflow, Docker, Terraform/Pulumi, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, PyTorch, LLMs, Vector Databases
