How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Assistant Educational Psychologist (Remote, Freelance)


    Hourly Rate: £15 per hour


    Hours: 30 hours per week, flexible hours


    Location: Remote (UK-based)


    Closing Date: 12th July 2026


    About the Role

    *This is a virtual position however, there will be some requirement for travel for in-person work*

    Join our dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of children and families through delivering virtual-first psychological assessments for children and young people aged 0–25 years. We are looking for a passionate Assistant Educational Psychologist to support our mission of making psychological advice more accessible and create lasting impact through clarity, kindness, and expertise.


    What you'll be doing:

    1. Developing your professional practice in a structured environment

    2. Gaining real, meaningful experience in educational psychology

    3. Being part of a team that genuinely cares about outcomes

    4. Supporting qualified EPs with statutory EHCP assessments

    5. Engaging with families, schools, and Local Authority teams

    6. Conducting observations and gathering pupil information

    7. Contributing to report writing and recommendations

    8. Collating and reviewing school-based evidence

    9. Working within clear statutory timelines

    10. Working predominantly virtually with flexibility built in


    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the delivery of virtual psychological assessments for children and young people.
    • Support the preparation of reports and documentation under the guidance of a qualified Educational Psychologist.
    • Liaise with families and professionals to ensure smooth assessment processes.
    • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards at all times.
    • Support in service development including marketing and operations.


    Requirements

    • Undergraduate degree in Psychology (minimum 2:1 classification).
    • Strong organisational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.


    Desirable:

    • At least 2 years experience of working with children and young people in an educational context.
