How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: Workshop Powered Access Engineer
    Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
    Shifts: Monday – Friday | Days

    Workshop Powered Access Engineer Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Powered Access Engineer to join a nationally recognised provider of powered access and plant equipment. This role is ideal for an experienced Workshop Powered Access Engineer who enjoys carrying out major repairs, overhauls and complex fault finding on a wide range of powered access machinery within a busy workshop environment.

    About the Role – Workshop Powered Access Engineer As a Workshop Powered Access Engineer, you will be responsible for major repairs, refurbishments and full machine overhauls on powered access equipment returned from hire. The role focuses heavily on diagnostics and complex repairs to ensure equipment is restored to the highest operational and safety standards.

    Your duties will include:

    Carrying out major mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs on powered access equipment

    Completing full strip-downs, rebuilds and refurbishments of access platforms

    Diagnosing complex faults and implementing long-term repair solutions

    Conducting PDI inspections following major repairs

    Completing LOLER inspections and ensuring equipment meets safety standards

    Working collaboratively with the engineering team to prioritise workshop repairs

    What You’ll Need to Succeed as a Workshop Powered Access Engineer
    Previous experience within the Powered Access industry

    Strong experience with major repairs, diagnostics and equipment rebuilds

    Good understanding of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems

    IPAF & CAP licence (essential)

    NVQ qualification or equivalent in Plant Maintenance or similar

    Previous experience as a Workshop Powered Access Engineer is highly beneficial
