How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Data Scientist

    London. Hybrid working (1 to 2 days in office). £60,000 to £80,000 + benefits.

    The Role

    You will join a specialist pricing and underwriting team, applying advanced analytics to drive business performance. Key responsibilities include:

    • Developing predictive models to improve pricing strategies and risk assessment
    • Analysing complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and insights
    • Exploring new data sources to enhance model performance and innovation
    • Supporting the simulation of customer behaviour to inform pricing decisions
    • Translating technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
    • Collaborating with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and the wider analytics team


    Your Skills and Experience

    • A strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field
    • A minimum 2.1 degree from a leading university, ideally within the Russell Group
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong logical mindset
    • Exposure to Python through academic projects, internships, or personal work
    • A proactive attitude, with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn quickly
    • An interest in applying data science to commercial and real-world challenges
