How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Support Engineer - Cable Management Systems
    Location: West Bromwich B70 (occasional domestic travel required)

    Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 per annum dependant on experience

    Contract: Full time - Permanent

    They are now looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and technically minded individual to join their Technical team. This role will support the continued growth of their flexible conduit and cable management product range, providing technical expertise to both internal teams and external customers, while contributing to product development and innovation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide technical support and application advice to internal sales teams and external customers
    Deliver product training and application guidance to support colleagues and clients
    Assess feasibility of project opportunities, including technical viability, cost, resource and capital requirements
    Support the design, development and trialling of new products
    Assist in maintaining product approvals, certifications, and compliance standards
    Contribute to product lifecycle management, including catalogue updates and datasheets in collaboration with Product Management
    Support introduction of new products and services
    Assist Quality teams with product investigations, validations, and testing support
    Maintain product data within ERP/MRP systems (including BOMs and routings)
    Liaise with external test laboratories and approval bodies where required
    Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites, including overnight stays (planned in advance)
    About You

    We are looking for someone with hands-on experience and strong technical understanding in a relevant environment.

    Experience in electrical installation, cable management systems, or related electrical infrastructure products
    Experience in application support or providing technical guidance to customers and internal teams
    Strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
    Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
    Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
    Ability to deliver training and product/application support sessions
    Strong project management and organisational skills
    Analytical and problem-solving mindset with sound decision-making ability
    Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence
    Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Electrical Installation, Design, or related technical field
    Desirable Experience
    Working with flexible conduit systems or cable containment products
    Experience with external test laboratories and certification bodies
    Background in industrial manufacturing environments
    OEM or technical B2B experience
    Supporting commercial growth within key accounts or industrial markets (5+ years preferred)
