How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Air Conditioning Service & Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing HVAC business covering Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

    We're looking for experienced engineers, but we're also keen to hear from Junior or Improver Air Conditioning Engineers with 1-2 years' industry experience and a valid F-Gas Category 1 qualification. If you're looking to develop your skills with a company that genuinely invests in training and progression, this could be the perfect next step.

    The role will primarily cover the local area, although some national contracts will require overnight stays.

    The Role

    You'll be carrying out the service, maintenance, fault finding and repair of a wide range of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration equipment across various customer sites.

    Equipment you'll be working on includes Split Systems, VRV/VRF, CRAC Units, Water Chillers, Cold Rooms, Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Ventilation Systems. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance, completing service reports electronically and ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with industry standards.

    What We're Looking For

    To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have experience servicing commercial air conditioning systems and hold:

    * F-Gas Category 1 qualification (essential)

    * Full UK Driving Licence

    * CSCS Card

    * Experience working on VRV/VRF and Split Systems

    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills

    Junior/Improver Engineers with 1-2 years' experience and an F-Gas qualification are encouraged to apply, with salaries starting from around £30,940, with flexibility depending on experience.
