How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Construction Manager

Camberley | Data Centre | Permanent or Contract

    £70,000 - £80,000 + package
    or
    £375 - £450 per day

This is a role for a Mechanical Construction Manager who wants to work on a live data centre project as part of a strong site delivery team.

You will be working under the Senior Construction Manager, helping drive the mechanical installation on site and making sure works are delivered safely, properly coordinated and in line with programme.

The project involves complex mechanical infrastructure within a critical environment, so this would suit someone with strong mechanical building services experience who is comfortable managing subcontractors, working from drawings, tracking progress and keeping quality under control.

    What you’ll be doing

Supporting the Senior Construction Manager with the day-to-day mechanical delivery across a live data centre project.

Coordinating mechanical and specialist subcontractors on site to make sure works are delivered safely, correctly and in line with programme.

Driving installation works across areas such as pipework, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure, pumps, valves, plant rooms, ventilation, ductwork, AHUs, CRAC / CRAH units, fan systems, supports, insulation, controls interfaces and associated critical environment services.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Design Managers, QA teams, commissioning teams and client-side representatives.

Managing short-term lookahead programmes, labour planning, workface coordination, RAMS, permits, progress updates and site constraints.

Maintaining installation quality through inspections, snagging, QA checks, ITPs, pressure testing, flushing records, commissioning documentation and handover information.

Helping pick up site issues early and escalating anything that could affect programme, cost, quality or commissioning.

Supporting the transition from installation into testing, commissioning and project handover.

Making sure subcontractors are working safely and that site standards are properly maintained.

    What you’ll need

Previous experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager, Mechanical Site Manager, Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Package Manager or Mechanical Project Engineer on technically detailed projects.

Strong mechanical building services experience, ideally gained with an M&E contractor, mechanical contractor, data centre specialist, main contractor technical services team or mission critical contractor.

Data centre experience would be ideal, but experience on commercial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure, industrial or other technically complex mechanical projects would also be relevant.

A good understanding of mechanical installation sequencing, drawings, coordination, QA, pressure testing, flushing, commissioning requirements and site delivery.

Experience managing subcontractors, labour, workfaces, progress meetings, site constraints and quality standards.

The ability to keep control of multiple areas at once while maintaining safety, programme and installation quality.

Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, client teams and senior project leadership.

SMSTS, CSCS or equivalent and First Aid would be expected.

    Why this role

This is a good opportunity to move onto a data centre project while working under a senior lead who will own the wider construction delivery.

You will still have proper site responsibility, but you will not be expected to carry the full project on your own. The role gives you exposure to a technically demanding critical environment project, with the chance to strengthen your data centre experience and progress within a specialist delivery team.
