How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Document Controller

Camberley | Data Centre | Permanent or Contract

    £35,000 - £50,000 + package
    or
    £24 - £30 per hour

This is a good opportunity for a Document Controller who wants to work on a live data centre project rather than a slow-moving construction scheme where document control is treated as admin.

You will be joining a specialist project team delivering complex technical infrastructure within a critical environment. The work will involve a high volume of drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, trackers, QA records, commissioning documents and project correspondence, so this needs someone organised, sharp and comfortable keeping control of information across multiple stakeholders.

The project would suit a Document Controller with experience in M&E, data centres, commercial fit-out, healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure or other technically detailed construction environments. Data centre experience would be ideal, but strong document control experience on a fast-paced M&E or main contracting project would also be relevant.

    What you’ll be doing

Managing the document control process across a live data centre project, making sure drawings, specifications, technical submissions, RFIs, schedules, reports and project correspondence are properly uploaded, issued, tracked and maintained.

Keeping control of revisions, workflows, approvals and document status, making sure the project team is working from the latest information and that superseded documents are clearly managed.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, Design Managers, QSs, subcontractors and client-side teams to keep information moving properly through the project.

Maintaining document registers, drawing trackers, technical submission logs, RFI trackers, QA documentation, commissioning records and handover information.

Supporting the wider site team with document naming conventions, upload protocols, permissions, workflows and general EDMS/CDE discipline.

Helping prepare documentation for project handover, including O&M information, as-built drawings, test certificates, commissioning records and close-out packs.

    What you’ll need

Previous experience as a Document Controller within construction, M&E, data centres, commercial fit-out, healthcare, life sciences, infrastructure or another technical project environment.

Experience using an EDMS / CDE system. Aconex, Asite, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360, Viewpoint for Projects / 4Projects, Dalux, Field View or SharePoint would all be relevant.

A strong understanding of document control basics: revision control, workflows, approvals, transmittals, naming conventions, drawing registers, technical submissions and project close-out.

Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

The ability to work on site with a busy project team and keep control of information without needing to be chased.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the confidence to push back when documents are missing, incorrectly named, uploaded to the wrong place or issued without the right approval.

    Why this role

This is a proper project-based Document Controller role on a technically demanding data centre scheme. You will be close to the delivery team, involved in the day-to-day flow of information and trusted to keep the project documentation clean, accurate and under control.

For someone with M&E or data centre experience, this is a strong opportunity to step into a critical environment project and build further experience in one of the busiest sectors in construction.
