Working closely with production, procurement, and commercial teams, you will play a key role in balancing workloads, optimising capacity, and supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.

* £32k - £40k per annum
Working hours:
* Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain, and adjust daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
* Coordinate workflow across laser cutting, CNC punching, press brake, fabrication, welding, painting, and finishing departments.
* Monitor production progress, proactively resolving scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and delays.
* Work closely with procurement to ensure materials are available in line with production requirements.
* Collaborate with commercial and customer service teams to prioritise urgent and high-value customer orders.
* Maximise machine utilisation and labour efficiency to achieve production targets.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators including on-time delivery, lead times, capacity, and work-in-progress.
* Present weekly production capacity plans and highlight any operational constraints.
* Maintain accurate production data within ERP/MRP systems.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within planning and scheduling processes.
* Support long-term production planning and capacity forecasting
Required Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
* Experience within sheet metal, fabrication, or precision engineering is highly desirable.
* Good understanding of fabrication processes including laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, and finishing.
* Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other planning tools.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies would be advantageous.
* Experience with CAD/CAM systems and manufacturing workflows is desirable.
* HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline is desirable.
