The successful candidate will take ownership of commercial activities across multiple projects, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining strong contractual and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial management of civil engineering projects from tender through to final account.
* Administer NEC contracts (or equivalent), including compensation events, early warnings, and change management.
* Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
* Value completed works and prepare applications for payment.
* Assess, negotiate, and agree subcontractor accounts and variations.
* Produce monthly CVRs and provide accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
* Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
* Support procurement activities and subcontractor selection.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
* Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, governance, and contractual obligations.
About You
You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Essential
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, highways, utilities, water, rail, or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts.
Salary is £65,000 - £75,000 + package.
