How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mobile Cleaner

    Bedfordshire Police - Multiple Locations Across Bedfordshire (Driving Licence Essential)

    £13.08-13.84 per hour

    Full time and Part time roles available

    Hours – Various available between 7.30am – 6.30pm

    PLEASE NOTE: A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. As a Mobile Cleaner, you will be required to travel independently between various Bedfordshire Police locations across the county to provide cleaning support where it is needed most.

    Every clean, safe and well-maintained police building helps support frontline officers and staff in serving local communities. As a Mobile Cleaner, you will play a key role in ensuring Bedfordshire Police can continue to operate effectively across the county.

    The Role

    As a Mobile Cleaner, you will provide high-quality cleaning services across multiple Bedfordshire Police sites, ensuring all locations remain clean, safe, hygienic and presentable.

    No two days will be the same. You will travel between police stations, offices, welfare facilities, operational buildings and custody environments, supporting both planned cleaning schedules and reactive operational requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Travel between Bedfordshire Police sites to deliver cleaning services as required.

    * Maintain high standards of cleanliness across offices, communal areas, welfare facilities and operational environments.

    * Carry out vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting and sanitising duties.

    * Clean and maintain welfare facilities and washrooms.

    * Empty bins and manage waste disposal appropriately.

    * Replenish consumables including soap, hand towels and toilet rolls.

    * Complete cleaning records and task logs accurately.

    * Carry out touchpoint cleaning and infection prevention measures.

    * Safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment and PPE in accordance with COSHH regulations.

    * Report maintenance issues, hazards, defects and security concerns.

    * Support urgent cleaning requirements arising from operational incidents or building issues.

    * Assist with deep cleans and specialist cleaning tasks when required.

    What We're Looking For

    We are seeking dependable individuals who can work independently, adapt to changing priorities and take pride in delivering exceptional cleaning standards.

    Essential Requirements

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    * Ability and willingness to travel between multiple Bedfordshire Police locations.

    * Previous cleaning experience or ability to deliver consistent cleaning standards.

    * Knowledge of hygiene practices and the safe use of cleaning products.

    * Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

    * Ability to follow procedures, schedules and instructions.

    * Good communication skills.

    * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

    * Basic IT skills including email and electronic timesheets.

    * Ability to undertake physical cleaning duties, including standing, bending and moving equipment.

    * Willingness to successfully complete police security vetting.

    Working Environment

    This role offers variety, independence and the opportunity to support a vital public service. You will work across a range of police environments, including operational areas and custody facilities, where professionalism, confidentiality and discretion are essential.

    The successful candidate may occasionally be required to support cleaning activities outside normal office hours to meet operational demands.

    Security & Vetting

    Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants will be required to pass Security Vetting prior to appointment and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality at all times.
