How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a driven sales professional, passionate about helping UK businesses secure funding for cutting-edge innovation?

     

    Walmer Group is growing rapidly, and we are now looking for a hungry SDR to join our London office. If you have a proven track record in outbound B2B sales and want to get into a fast-growing company at the right time, we want to hear from you.

     

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Appointment setting - your primary focus will be identifying, qualifying and booking meetings with innovative UK businesses for our senior commercial team.
    • Outbound prospecting - generating leads through calls, emails, LinkedIn, events and referrals.
    • Building relationships - engaging with Founders, CEOs and CFOs at some of the UK's most innovative companies from the very first conversation.
    • Pipeline management - keeping things tidy and organised in HubSpot (training provided).
    • Collaborating with leadership - working directly alongside our Commercial Director and Senior Commercial Team.


    What We're Looking For

    • At least 6 months of outbound B2B sales experience, with a demonstrable track record of hitting targets.
    • Experience in R&D tax, accountancy or innovation funding is a significant advantage - someone who can hold an intelligent conversation from call one.
    • Comfortable and confident in making a high volume of outbound calls.
    • Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Resilient, punctual, commercially savvy and genuinely curious about innovative businesses.
    • Over-achievement in various aspects of life is viewed favourably (please include this in your application if you think it may help).
