A prominent international law firm is seeking an associate to join its London regulatory practice, advising sophisticated businesses on the legal and regulatory challenges created by new technologies. This is a standout opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys working at the intersection of regulation, innovation and commercial strategy.
The practice works with major corporates, high-growth technology businesses and organisations operating in heavily regulated sectors, providing clients with clear, commercially useful advice on how changing legal framework affect product design, launch strategy, governance, risk management and engagement with regulators.
You will be advising on the regulatory treatment of new technology, supporting the development of internal compliance structures, helping clients prepare for evolving legislation and assisting with regulatory scrutiny as it arises. Matters often have an international dimension and require close collaboration with lawyers across multiple jurisdictions.
The successful candidate is likely to have experience advising on regulatory issues affecting products, technology, digital services or consumer-facing businesses. A background in areas such as product safety, AI governance, digital regulation, consumer protection or sustainability regulation would be helpful, although the key requirement is a genuine interest in technology with the ability to apply complex rules in a pragmatic way.
