How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced conflicts professional to lead the conflicts function of a prestigious international law firm. This strategic leadership role offers the chance to drive transformational change, influence firm-wide policy and play a key role in shaping the future of the firm's Risk & Compliance function.

    Why Apply?

    • Lead strategic change – Take ownership of a significant programme to modernise the firm's conflicts processes and implement best-in-class solutions.
    • Influence at the highest level – Work alongside senior leadership, shaping policy, strengthening risk management and driving operational excellence across an international organisation.
    • Exceptional career opportunity – Attractive six-figure salary, hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home) and part-time applications welcomed for the right candidate.

This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape the future of the firm's conflicts function. As Head of Conflicts, you will oversee complex conflicts and confidentiality matters, lead a firm-wide programme of process improvement, enhance policies and procedures, and build a high-performing team to support the firm's continued international growth. Combining technical expertise with strategic leadership, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact across a global Risk & Compliance function.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the firm's conflicts function, overseeing the resolution of complex conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues.
    • Drive a firm-wide programme to enhance conflicts processes, procedures and supporting technology.
    • Develop and maintain conflicts policies, guidance and best practice.
    • Advise on conflicts arising from new business, lateral hires, confidential information and other strategic initiatives.
    • Build, mentor and lead a specialist conflicts team, fostering high performance and continuous development.
    • Deliver training and guidance to partners and employees across the firm's international offices.
    • Provide strategic reporting and advice to senior leadership and governance committees.
    • Collaborate with the wider Risk & Compliance team to strengthen the firm's overall risk framework.

This opportunity would suit either a qualified lawyer or an experienced non-qualified conflicts professional with extensive expertise gained within an international law firm. You will have a strong track record of managing complex conflicts issues, leading teams and driving operational improvement. Experience with Intapp or similar conflicts management systems would be highly advantageous, alongside excellent stakeholder management, commercial judgement and the ability to influence at senior level. You will be equally comfortable managing day-to-day technical matters whilst leading strategic change across the business.

If you're looking for a role that combines strategic leadership with technical excellence and offers the opportunity to shape the future of a global conflicts function, this is an exceptional career opportunity. In return, you'll join a collaborative international law firm that invests in its people, embraces innovation and offers genuine long-term career progression within a highly respected Risk & Compliance team.
