How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    AM2 Assessor / Examiner

    Location - On-Site - Durham

    Salary - £40,000

Contract - Full-time 35 hours a week (Associate work can't be considered at this time)

Are you passionate about electrical training and development? We're looking for an experienced electrical professional to take the lead in managing and delivering assessments at a new AM2 Centre in Durham.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the next generation of electricians by ensuring high-quality assessment standards are met and maintained.

    About the Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the AM2 assessment centre. You’ll coordinate and deliver assessments, manage candidate registrations and ensure the centre remains compliant with all relevant industry and quality standards.

Don’t have your AM2 Assessor accreditation yet? That’s not a problem - full support and training will be provided to help you gain the necessary approvals.

    What you'll be doing?

    • Lead and manage the induction and AM2 assessment process, maintaining high levels of professionalism, quality and safety.
    • Register and assess AM2 candidates in line with national industry guidelines and standards.
    • Ensure all documentation and assessment resources are accurate, up to date and meet compliance requirements.
    • Maintain centre approval status through consistent quality assurance and adherence to relevant frameworks.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and promote the centre to employers, learners, and partners.
    • Provide excellent customer service by responding to queries from apprentices, employers and other stakeholders.
    • Keep up to date with changes in regulations, equipment and best practices in the electrical industry.
    • Support internal and external audits and inspections as required.
    • Contribute to other duties as needed by management.

    What we're looking for?

    Essential:

    • NVQ Level 3 in Installing and Commissioning Electrical Systems & Equipment (or equivalent), or City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 and 2.
    • Qualification in current edition of BS 7671 (18th Edition)
    • Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (e.g. 2391 or 2394/5).
    • Must already hold a Gold Card.
    • Significant post-qualification experience within the electrical industry.
    • Familiarity with AM2 assessment processes, equipment, and materials.
    • Strong IT and presentation skills.
    • Valid First Aid at Work certificate (or willingness to obtain).

    Desirable:

    • Certificate in Education or recognised teaching qualification.
    • Assessor qualification (D32/D33, A1 or equivalent).
    • Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.
    • Teaching experience in electrical installation subjects.
    • Internal Verifier qualification (D34/V1 or equivalent).

Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position (35 hours per week) and all duties must be carried out on-site. Please only apply if you are able to commute to Durham on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time, so you must already have full right to work in the UK
